Hi All,

I have been to the mysterious but lovely island of Iona, Macbeth is buried there as well as a few other kings of Scotland.

It has a few ghosts.

I wonder if the Fae are related to us. Different genus perhaps?

The Fae are classified as part of the "Elementals". Often seen as nature spirits.

Elemental spirits are entities that are believed to embody and represent the natural elements—earth, air, fire, and water. These spirits are often described as conscious, intelligent beings or essences associated with specific elements of nature.

Yes, but in Irish mythology, especially the Lebor Geballa Erenn, the Tuatha De Danaan,or as the Germanic peoples called them, Elves, are human like beings who can manipulate matter and energy, and are not spirits, but display similar powers. These were later associated with nature spirits. So the question is, are the Fae Elves, Elementals, or Tuatha? Or someting else? Also, is Fae a french word?

Faerie is believed to be rooted in the French word faèe or fèe, meaning enchantment. Folklore scholar, Thomas Keightley, proposed the term be used to describe both the beings who cast magic and the world they inhabited.

This is a topic that should have a stand alone thread. How about starting this discussion in the Metaphysics forum area?
